Karen Migdail is Senior Communications Advisor at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. In this role, she provides advice on AHRQ-related policy issues as they relate to communications activities and on the promotion of AHRQ research findings, evidence reports, and other Agency activities to traditional and social media via press releases and other outreach vehicles.  From 2011 to 2018, she served as AHRQ’s Chief of Staff and Senior Policy Advisor.  In this capacity, she was responsible for managing the operations of the Office of the Director, coordinating the activities of the AHRQ Senior Leadership Team and advising on general policy issues affecting the Agency and its programs, and serving as a congressional affairs liaison.  From 1995 to 2011, Ms. Migdail served in other communications roles at AHRQ, including Director of Media Relations.  She has a B.A. from Syracuse University.
