Xiaochu Hu, Ph.D., is a Research Manager of Workforce Studies at the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) and currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Health Workforce Interest Group Advisory Committee of AcademyHealth.
Xiaochu’s research areas include labor market, migration, and public health. Xiaochu joined the AAMC as a Lead Research Analyst in 2018. Prior to AAMC, she taught at The University of the District of Columbia as a land-grant faculty and worked as a graduate research assistant for the Center for Regional Analysis at George Mason University. Xiaochu received the American Economic Association/Women in the Economics Profession Fellowship in 2013 and the Philip M. Dearborn Fellowship of the Economic Club of Washington D.C. in 2012. Xiaochu holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy from George Mason University, a MA in Applied Geography from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, an MPA from Beijing Normal University, and a BS in Computer Science from Beijing Language and Culture University.
