Aliza (pronounced uh-lee-zuh) serves as Senior Health and Oversight Counsel on the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, for Ranking Member Richard Burr (R-NC), previously for Chairman Lamar Alexander (R-TN). Aliza has worked on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and the Senate Appropriations Committee, as well as in FDA’s Office of Chief Counsel and in the White House. In the private sector, Aliza was a lobbyist in DC law firm and also clerked for the general counsel of Johns Hopkins Health System. Aliza leads the health IT, privacy, and cybersecurity portfolios for Ranking Member Burr in addition to working on FDA matters and oversight. She earned her law degree at George Washington University and her Masters degree in Public Health at Johns Hopkins University.
