Addison is a Data Scientist at Mathematica working remotely from Philadelphia, PA. She has worked with several Federal clients, including the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Social Security Administration, the U.S. Department of Education, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture; and nonprofit and foundation clients such as Character Lab and the Kresge Foundation. While the projects and clients vary, Addison’s work consistently involves obtaining and processing data, and presenting findings in useful formats, including maps, dashboards, fact sheets, and web-based data exploration tools. Addison is a practical programmer at heart and is always looking for ways to make code and processes easier to understand. Before joining Mathematica, Addison was a Planning Data Scientist at the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission, where she worked with transit, bicycle, and pedestrian planners to analyze data relevant to transportation planning in Greater Philadelphia. In her free time, Addison volunteers at an urban farm, reads copious amounts of nonfiction, and creates functional wares on the pottery wheel.
