Adam J. Gordon, M.D., M.P.H., F.A.C.P., D.F.A.S.A.M. is a tenured Professor of Medicine and Psychiatry, at the University of Utah School of Medicine and the Section Chief of Addiction Medicine at the Salt Lake City VA Health Care System. He conducts research on the quality, equity, and efficiency of health care for vulnerable populations, particularly patients with substance use disorders and co-occurring pain. Dr. Gordon authored over 330 peer reviewed articles. At AcademyHealth, Dr. Gordon is a project director on University of Pittsburgh's Medicaid Outcomes Distributed Research Network: Equity and Quality Improvement for Medicaid Programs (MODRN EQUIP) Project.

AcademyHealth's Evidence-Informed State Health Policy Institute, as the Administrative Coordinating Center for the Medicaid Outcomes Distributed Research Network, supports the University of Pittsburgh and 11 additional state-university research teams to develop opioid use disorder (OUD) quality measures that can be constructed at the provider level, incorporate patient experience, and center health equity.
