Dr. Denham is a health services researcher aiming to improve healthcare access, particularly for populations that have been historically marginalized and disadvantaged. Her research focuses on the Medicaid population, Medicaid managed care, and access to healthcare. She is particularly interested in the effects of state and managed care initiatives to address social determinants of health, as well as managed care practices that may impact health equity. She is dedicated to centering marginalized voices and advocating for social justice. Dr. Denham completed her Master of Science in International Management of Health Systems at the University of Liverpool, her Ph.D. in Health Services Research and Policy at the University of Rochester, and her postdoctoral training in the Department of Health Care Policy at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Denham is an Assistant Professor in the Program in Public Health and the Department of Family, Population and Preventive Medicine at Stony Brook University.
