Sandy Fried, M.A., Senior Conferences Manager, joined AcademyHealth in October 2015.
She is responsible for coordinating the faculty and curriculum development process for AcademyHealth’s Annual Research Meeting (ARM) and Health Datapalooza (HDP). She also oversees the implementation of the annual Health Policy Orientation (HPO) and participates in other projects that support AcademyHealth's mission.
Prior to joining AcademyHealth, Sandy managed the curriculum development process for the National Council for Mental Wellbeing’s annual meeting. Earlier in her career, she served as a legislative assistant for health and human services to two governors in their Washington, DC offices and to U.S. Senator Jean Carnahan of Missouri. In addition, she taught U.S. Government at the high school level.
Sandy earned her B.A. in Government from Cornell University, an M.A. in Political Science from Villanova University, and a Graduate Certificate in Secondary Education for Social Studies from American University. Beginning in fall 2023, she is pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from George Mason University.
