Moderated by Tanisha Carino, Ph.D., panelists Amy Abernethy, M.D., Ph.D., Peter Embí, M.D., M.S., FACP, FACMI, and Carolyn Magill examined where real-world evidence meets health services research, considered what is truly innovative, and discussed ways to push the frontiers of data, methods, and knowledge.
Panelists also shared their perspectives on the acceleration of evidence generation and the rise of real-world data, which will lead to more innovations. However, because of the increase in both the use and sources of electronic data, trust and privacy concerns must be addressed, as well as ensuring that data sets and algorithms don’t further perpetuate bias and inequities.
