Dr. Ayomide Okanlawon Bankole is a National Institute of Health T32 postdoctoral research fellow at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, School of Nursing. Dr. Bankole’s research- informed by her clinical practice- is focused on two priorities: (1) improving health disparities and outcomes among older adults with serious illness, particularly those from under-resourced communities (2) promoting aging in place by improving the quality of healthcare delivery in home and community-based services, particularly during care transitions. Dr. Bankole’s overall research objective is to develop and test models of healthcare delivery that improve health outcomes for older adults with serious illness.
