Christiane E. Voisin, M.S.L.S., is a librarian with the Cecil G Sheps Center for Health Services Research in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She has worked on the Health Services Research-in-Progress (HSRProj) database in collaboration with AcademyHealth and the NLM for the past 15 years to select, format and maintain project records for this resource. During 2009 she assumed the role of Principal Investigator for the HSRProj Professional and Database Support contract at UNC. Ms. Voisin serves as Associate Director for Information Services at the Sheps Center, and currently acts as the lead librarian for the RTI-UNC Evidence-based Practice Center (EPC). She has also performed consulting work on systematic review projects for contracts with RTI International funded by the FDA; Hayes, Inc.; the Thurston Arthritis Research Center at UNC Chapel Hill with funding from the Arthritis Foundation; and the State of Maryland.
This seminar provides an overview of resources and use cases provided by the National Library of Medicine’s National Information Center on Health Services Research (NICHSR) to support the HSR community. Developed with students and faculty in mind, the session helps students understand the field of Health Services research (HSR) and introduces resources to support coursework and independent research projects, with step-by-step instructions.
