Elizabeth Janiak is an interdisciplinary public health researcher and Assistant Professor at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health, as well as Director of Social Science Research at Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts. Her research explores how public and institutional policies create inequities in access to and quality of sexual and reproductive health services according to age, gender, race/ethnicity, and other aspects of identity subjected to dynamics of power and oppression in US society. Dr. Janiak uses a multilevel, mixed-methods approach with a focus on administrative data sources, survey research, and qualitative interviews. She completed her undergraduate and graduate training at Harvard and is a recipient of the Society of Family Planning's Junior Investigator Award. Her research has been cited by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, and covered in dozens of media outlets including The Boston Globe, National Public Radio, and Scientific American.
