Lisa Stern is Deputy Director at the Coalition to Expand Contraceptive Access (CECA). Lisa is a nurse practitioner whose career is dedicated to advancing reproductive freedom through healthcare delivery, research, teaching, and advocacy. In addition to her work at CECA, Lisa consults to organizations throughout the U.S. to improve the delivery of patient-centered sexual and reproductive health care. Lisa’s research encompasses users’ experiences of LARC (long acting reversible contraception) removalclinicians’ own contraceptive practices, and the history of the measurement of unintended pregnancy. Lisa also teaches nursing and medical students at UCSF, where she received a Master’s Degree in the History of Health Sciences.

A Research Roadmap to Advance Contraceptive Access Policy

The Coalition to Expand Contraceptive Access led a collaborative process to create a Priority Roadmap for Policy-Ready Contraceptive Research that positions health services researchers to carry out impactful projects that advance sexual and reproductive health equity.
