Matthew Chinman, Ph.D., (University of South Carolina) is a clinical/community psychologist and a Career Research Scientist at the VISN4 Mental Illness Research, Education and Clinical Center at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) and a Senior Behavioral Scientist at the RAND Corporation. He is also the Director of the Implementation and Evaluation Core in the VA HSR&D Center for Health Equity Research and Promotion (CHERP) at VAPHS. He has extensive research experience in developing and testing novel implementation strategies in the VA, military, and community-based care settings. As part of his research to develop strategies to enhance the capacity of behavioral health practitioners, he co-developed Getting To Outcomes® (GTO®), an approach designed to help behavioral health organizations to better plan, implement, and self-evaluate evidence-based programs across a number of domains. Dr. Chinman is a developer of ERIC (Expert Recommendations for Implementing Change) and has made contributions to meshing implementation science and health equity research and developing a framework for conducting implementation replication trials.
