Meira Neggaz is the Executive Director of the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU), a non-profit research organization that studies the challenges and opportunities facing American Muslims. Before joining ISPU, Meira was the Senior Program Officer for Marie Stopes International (MSI-US), a leading global health organization. There, she led and managed programs and research in multiple countries, shared research and program outcomes at conferences, developed partnerships, and managed key grants and donor relationships. Formerly, Meira was the first Executive Director of WINGS in Guatemala, where she grew the organization from its infancy to become a national leader in the health sector. She also served as the Guatemalan Country Representative for Curamericas, establishing country presence and leading a USAID funded child survival program. Early in her career she served as the Intake Team Leader at the Big Brother Association of Greater Boston.
In all of her roles, Meira has been a frequent trainer, facilitator, lecturer, and guest speaker. She has presented at numerous conferences globally and nationwide, appeared in radio, TV and news print, and has developed and executed countless trainings ranging from one-hour sessions to multi-day workshops. She uses participatory methods to most effectively engage her students as adult learners.
She holds a BA from Huron University, a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, and an International Health Certificate from Boston University. She additionally studied public health at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Public Health as a non-Degree student.
