Milan F. Satcher, MD, MPH is a T32 postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Community and Family Medicine at Dartmouth Health and a scholar in the Lifespan/Brown Criminal Justice Research Training Program. She is also a board-certified family physician with a focus on addiction care. She received her MD and MPH degrees from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. During her doctoral years, she completed an R25 research fellowship on HIV Prevention in Peru through the University of California, Los Angeles. She completed her family medicine residency and chief resident year at Boston Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, as well as an emergency medicine fellowship at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta, Maine. Dr. Satcher’s long-term research focus is the development of community-partnered biopsychosocial strategies to eliminate disparities in health and healthcare delivery for communities vulnerable to socio-political exclusion, with a particular focus on families impacted by the criminal legal system and substance use disorders.
