Dr. Osita Okonkwo is a highly skilled and experienced public health expert with technical and managerial competences in health systems strengthening in developing country contexts and around maternal neonatal and child health (MNCH), HIV, WASH, malaria, nutrition and program coordination in conflict and post conflict environments. He has 18+ years of program leadership experience in Nigeria, South Sudan and Sierra Leone, with technical competencies in the development of health programs, strategies, policies, planning, budgeting, implementation research, monitoring and evaluation of programs, and core cultural competences that cuts across diverse health sectors in developing countries. With professional interests in public health leadership, health sector reform, health financing, organizational change management, quality improvement, universal health coverage, maternal and child health, disease control, financial accountability, value for money, and empowerment of vulnerable populations and communities, Dr. Osita is poised to contribute in shaping resilient health systems in developing countries post COVID-19 pandemic.
