Yechu Hua is a doctoral candidate in the Health Services Research and Policy program at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Yechu’s primary research interest involves the use of economic theory and applied econometrics to understand approaches to improving the value of health care, especially the impact of recent hospital price transparency efforts on the cost, quality, and access to care. Her dissertation will focus on consumers’ and providers’ responses to an online price transparency tool, as well as its impacts on disadvantaged populations. Additionally, Yechu works with the Wilmot Cancer Institute to investigate racial disparities in cancer care in upstate New York.
Yechu is a recipient of a 2021 AcademyHealth Alice S. Hersh Student Scholarship for the Annual Research Meeting.
