In collaboration with the University of Kentucky, University of South Carolina’s Institute for Families in Society, and University of Louisiana Monroe, AcademyHealth’s Evidence-Informed State Health Policy Institute is assessing congenital syphilis rates among pregnant Medicaid enrollees in three southern states.

The Vaccine Information Sharing and Education Resource (VISER) Network, funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is a collaborative effort between AcademyHealth, the Association of Immunization Managers (AIM), and the National Academy of State Health Policy (NASHP) to provide immunization leaders with resources and promising practices for improving immunization rates for vaccine-preventable respiratory diseases across the lifespan.

With support from the HHS’ Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation, AcademyHealth’s Evidence-Informed State Health Policy Institute and NORC are exploring state-level data approaches to improve patient-centered maternal health outcomes.

In collaboration with Mathematica, AcademyHealth’s Evidence-Informed State Health Policy Institute convenes the Medicaid Medical Director Network and the Medicaid and CHIP Quality eXchange to promote quality measurement and improvement in Medicaid and CHIP.

With support from the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), AcademyHealth’s Evidence-Informed State Health Policy Institute is developing a research agenda and action-oriented research toolkit that identifies and prioritizes patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR) questions related to the impacts of long COVID.

With a Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute Eugene Washington Engagement Award, the Evidence-Informed State Health Policy Institute will bring together stakeholders to distill the latest PCORI-supported findings and identify strategies for dissemination to improve care coordination for children with special health care needs.

Experimentation in the Medicaid program creates an opportunity for states to modify their Medicaid programs to better meet enrollees’ health and social needs. Projects under the Research in Transforming Health and Healthcare Systems program examine Medicaid innovation, through Section 1115 Waivers or managed care organizations.

AcademyHealth’s Evidence-Informed State Health Policy Institute (ESHPI) aims to increase the use of relevant, timely and translatable evidence in state policymaking to improve health and health care quality, outcomes, equity, accessibility and affordability.

With support from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), AcademyHealth's Evidence-Informed State Health Policy Institute and ChangeLab Solutions explored approaches to improving care and delivery of PrEP medication and clinical care services to the Medicaid population.
