As the home for three state-based learning and research networks, AcademyHealth’s Evidence-Informed State Health Policy Institute cultivates collaboration across a diverse network of health policy researchers and practitioners who can adopt policy change to broaden their capacity to promote data-driven evidence-informed state policy and programs. As an administrative coordinating center for cross-state research projects, ESHPI also undertakes activities that foster information-sharing and serves as an incubator for new evidence that informs innovative state approaches to address health care cost, quality, and access for vulnerable populations.
The Institute works together with researchers, federal agencies, and foundations to understand how best to support policy-relevant evidence development and implementation. While other organizations work directly with specific state or federal government stakeholders, ESHPI expands that focus to include multi-stakeholder relationships between academic institutions and the state policy decision-makers they support.
