The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s (RWJF) efforts to improve health, equity, and social justice rely on evidence and data. They believe deeply in the importance of research, evaluation, and learning with the end goal of building an evidence base made from many disciplines that helps inform efforts to improve health, well-being, and equity. They recognize that access to rich data is a cornerstone of producing this evidence. Health Data for Action (HD4A), an RWJF signature research program managed by AcademyHealth, aims to reduce the barriers often faced in accessing rich data by serving as a conduit between data owners and interested researchers. The HD4A program announced the final grantees under the program in 2024, and the program will wind down by the end of 2026.
