His previous experience includes health services research and health policy development at the state and federal levels, including positions at the Center for Studying Health System Change, Mathematica Policy Research, US Department of Health and Human Services, US Senate Labor Committee and as a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholar. His research has been published in JAMA, NEJM, Health Affairs, Pediatrics and other journals. He serves on the board of AcademyHealth, is a member of the National Advisory Committee of the RWJF Clinical Scholars Program, and served as a founding member of the board of the National Network of Public Health Institutes. St. Peter received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Kansas University and his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine. He completed his residency and chief residency in pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and is presently a research associate professor in the Department of Preventive Medicine at KU School of Medicine.
