Allison Viola, M.B.A., RHIA, has 20 years of experience in managing large health IT system life-cycle implementations, data mapping, and support; policy and strategy; and security solutions such as biometrics and public key infrastructure analysis. She currently serves as Kaiser Permanente’s Director, Health IT Policy where she identifies, develops, and recommends strategic policy positions on health IT issues and advises senior executives across all the regions, functions, programs, and entities on the adoption and implementation of positions related to standards, architecture, clinical models, information privacy and information exchange. Ms. Viola reviews and assesses new health IT standards and technologies, and new applications of technologies in health care for possible use, development and/or influence by Kaiser. She currently resides in Washington, D.C. with her husband, two children and Saint Bernard puppy, Elsa.
