Haiyan Qu, Ph. D, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Services Administration at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She holds a PhD in Health Services Administration with specific training in quantitative methods and mixed methods. Dr. Qu has taught research method courses for the master programs and coached doctoral student' dissertation studies for 15 years. Her research focuses on improving communication between providers and patients to make informed shared decisions using patient-centered mixed methods, and improving women health including facilitating HPV vaccine among girls, developing and implementing a treatment decision aid tool for female patients with lupus, and developing and implementing an exercise tool kit for female cancer survivors. Her research interests also include patient-centered outcomes, health disparities, organ transplant quality, aging, obesity, guideline and treatment adherence, and implementation science. She serves as Associate Editor of the journal of Risk Management and Healthcare Policy
