Mina Colon (she/her) received her M.P.H. from the University of Hawaii and is a Health Systems and Policy Ph.D. student at the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health. With over a decade of experience fostering community relationships and managing a diverse portfolio of health programs and initiatives, she is driven by the desire to move SDOH solutions upstream to address systemic and structural barriers more effectively. By adopting an asset-based approach and amplifying community voices, her research seeks to better understand how collaborative efforts across healthcare, public health, and social service sectors improve population health and health equity. She is interested in developing strategies to enhance the effectiveness of cross-sector initiatives across organizational, community, and policy levels. In her current role, she supports equity-focused initiatives at the Oregon Health Authority.
