Advocacy is the act of educating others on a specific cause or issue. It allows constituents to make their voices heard on issues of importance, open the channels of communication with policymakers, and potentially influence opinions.

In February 2025 AcademyHealth launched regular updates to provide clarity and insight for the field during a period of rapid change at the federal level. In addition to published updates, AcademyHealth began hosting members-only, virtual town halls with President and CEO, Aaron Carroll, and Director of Advocacy, Josh Caplan. Town halls will provide a chance to engage with AcademyHealth leadership, ask questions, and connect with fellow members.
