Amanda Brodt, M.P.P., is a Director with AcademyHealth's Evidence-Informed State Health Policy Institutewhere she supports state health policymakers move evidence into practice. For nearly two decades she has directed the Medicaid Medical Directors Network (MMDN), a learning network focused on the development and use of evidence-based medicine, measurement and improvement of health care quality, and the redesign of health care delivery systems. With support from various funders and partners including the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the MMDN synthesizes and disseminates policy relevant findings to policymakers who tend to need information quickly. Network members collaborate with one another and cross-sector state partners on improving immunization rates, advancing care coordination for CYSHCN, and promoting quality measurement and improvement in Medicaid and CHIP. The MMDN has provided policy analysis and collaboration to parties including The White House, Congressional staff, CMS, NIH, and various state agencies. She received her B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Economics, and her M.P.P. from the University of Maryland.
