Divya Mallampati, M.D., M.P.H., is an Assistant Professor at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Mallampati received her MD from Harvard Medical School, an MPH from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Northwestern University. She was a founding member and director of the international non-profit, GlobeMed, has served as a Fulbright Scholar in India studying reproductive health and HIV, and was a Zuckerman Fellow at the Center for Public Leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School. Over the years, Dr. Mallampati has worked for and consulted with Last Mile Health, the Population Council, the Ghana Health Services, UNICEF, and the World Health Organization. Her career and research interests include public health policy, modeling/cost-effectiveness, and the provision of high-risk obstetric services. At present, her work focuses on the impact of public payer mechanisms and innovations on maternal health outcomes in the United States.
