In this newsletter, AcademyHealth’s president and CEO provides a sneak preview of the project’s January in-person convening and one Learning member shares his experience of the work thus far.
This month, each of the project’s 17 Design Teams has utilized the insights gathered through “empathy interviews” (conversations with people who produce, use, or benefit from health services research) to ideate potential solutions to their challenges. Each team now has a prototype of an innovation that they will take out into the real world for initial, small-scale testing.
Also in this newsletter: A Q&A with Ziad Obermeyer, acting associate professor of health policy and management at the University of California, Berkeley; a featured article on the potential of social sciences research to address current social issues; and a poll question for readers to help the Learning Community prioritize its efforts.
