Mary Wheatley, M.S. is a principal policy analyst at MITRE. In that role, she provides policy support to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on the Quality Payment Program and Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). Prior to MITRE, Mary was the Director for Quality and Physician Payment Policies at a large health care association that represents academic institutions. She has over ten years’ experience leading physician and hospital policy and regulatory initiatives with expertise in Medicare hospital and physician quality reporting, value-based purchasing initiatives, physician payment issues, and new payment models. She also has additional experience analyzing health care administrative claims databases to answer strategic, research and policy questions.
