Rebecca Bilden is a PhD candidate in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the University of Pittsburgh. Her research focuses on improving access to treatment for opioid use disorder, with an emphasis on using data-driven approaches to inform opioid policy decisions. Rebecca’s work employs qualitatively informed simulation models to better understand the dynamics of opioid treatment systems and identify strategies for enhancing access to care. 

In addition to her research, Rebecca is cofounder of the University of Pittsburgh’s AcademyHealth Student chapter, and currently serves as president. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Pure and Applied Mathematics from Boston University, followed by a Master’s in Applied Data Science and Statistics from the University of Exeter prior to pursuing her PhD.
