Sirin Yaemsiri is a senior statistician at the U.S. Government Accountability Office. She provides technical expertise on public health surveillance and epidemiology, health disparities and rural health, vital statistics, sampling and analyzing complex survey data, variance estimation, and data visualization. Prior to joining GAO, Sirin served as a health statistician at CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics developing measures and methods for tracking national health priorities and health disparities. While at CDC, she also worked in the emergency operation center during Hurricane Maria, established a data quality team in Liberia’s capital during the Ebola Response, and evaluated a surveillance system for drug-resistant tuberculosis in South Africa. Sirin has a Ph.D. in epidemiology and a Master of Science in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
