Youngmin Kwon is a Ph.D. candidate in health services research and policy at University of Pittsburgh. He has broad research interests in areas including public insurance coverage, high costs/high needs populations, healthcare disparities, and social determinants of health. He has served as a research assistant at the Department of Health Policy and Management on projects examining impacts of the Affordable Care Act’s provisions on cancer care and evaluating the quality of opioid use disorder treatment in Medicaid. His dissertation aims to understand the role of Medicare and supplemental insurance coverage in guaranteeing access to care among older cancer survivors.
