This research community is focused on the broad health equity impacts of the Supreme Court’s 2022 decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health on the U.S. health care system and is supported by a collaboration between AcademyHealth and the Commonwealth Fund.
In collaboration with the University of Kentucky, University of South Carolina’s Institute for Families in Society, and University of Louisiana Monroe, AcademyHealth’s Evidence-Informed State Health Policy Institute is assessing congenital syphilis rates among pregnant Medicaid enrollees in three southern states.
In partnership with Adolescents and Children Together for Health, AcademyHealth leads this project on policy priorities to enhance adolescent health and wellbeing as part of a larger initiative at Well Being Trust to advance the mental, social and spiritual health of the nation.
Funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, AcademyHealth supports three national change leadership programs though policy and communications training.
With support from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Foundation, AcademyHealth’s Evidence-Informed State Health Policy Institute in collaboration with the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill is assessing syphilis testing among pregnant Medicaid beneficiaries as well as rates of STI testing of state Medicaid beneficiaries on PrEP.
AcademyHealth’s public and population health portfolio offers training, scholarships and resources for researchers, facilitates connections with policymakers, and stimulates discussions around the challenges and opportunities faced by the evolving public health system – from organization and financing to delivery and impact.
The Vaccine Information Sharing and Education Resource (VISER) Network, funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is a collaborative effort between AcademyHealth, the Association of Immunization Managers (AIM), and the National Academy of State Health Policy (NASHP) to provide immunization leaders with resources and promising practices for improving immunization rates for vaccine-preventable respiratory diseases across the lifespan.
AcademyHealth's Evidence-Informed State Health Policy Institute leads this learning collaborative of Medicaid waiver evaluation researchers aimed at examining the policy questions, and study designs, methodologies, data sources and metrics used in Medicaid waiver initiatives.
AcademyHealth, funded by Kaiser Permanente, is engaging leaders in public health research and practice on a priority-setting initiative to define a research agenda for the evidence needed for a reimagined public health system.
