Maik Schutze, M.H.S., is the Chief Analytics Officer for the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) and the Director of the Division of Analytics in the Office of Health Data and Analytics (OHDA) for CHFS. Mr. Schutze leads initiatives to transform how policymakers use analytics and data science to make better decisions. He began his career as an allied health staff at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and went on to complete graduate studies at The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health where he received the Master in Health Sciences degree with a concentration in health policy and management. Mr. Schutze is especially interested in innovative payment models that enhance the sustainability, quality, and effectiveness of programs addressing social determinants of health. He has conducted public policy and data analyses to evaluate the evidence for a range of policy issues in the healthcare and social services sectors. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, visiting historical sites, reading, good food and family.
